Driving Experience is not necessary we can teach the innerworkings of the sport. We aim to find people with good horse experience and horsemanship.
We are an FEI competition barn made up of 3 drivers who all compete nationally and internationally (CAI 2-3). We represent Team USA each year in the World Championships for our sport and at large competitions such as CAIO Aachen. We are hoping to find a team member who is able join us in upholding a standard of excellence and put the horse first and foremost. Attention to detail on all levels and an emphasis on horsemanship is a priority of ours. It's a very unique job with opportunity to travel and work with horses in the 1% of the sport world.
Job Description: General Grooming duties, mucking out, turning out, making horses ready for daily training, cleaning up after training, Cleaning/Maintence of tack, implementing daily therapies as needed (Theraplate, BEMER blanket, ultrasound, ect.) Show Grooming: Packing, plaiting, Show grooming, participating in competitions as a groom on carriage during 1 or multiple phases.
We all work together as a team and share in all responsibilities. We try to find specific areas of responsibilities for each team member, but we continue to share all basic duties.
Riding is possible but not guaranteed.
We travel between 3 bases. -Winter /spring in Florida -Spring/Summer In The Netherlands (if travel allows) -Fall in Kentucky Hours: We strive for a 7-5 day 6 days a week with an hour lunch and night check at 8:30pm. During clinics/specific training and shows, hours are relative. We are then at the mercy of the organizers schedule.
Salary/Benefits: -Typically we do a 3 month trial on an ESTA visa (EU only) (COVID-19 has restricted travel, so we’re at the mercy of the govt) Even if American, we strive for a 1-3 month trial period. -We can provide housing and use of a shared vehicle. -Weekly salary starts
Requirements
Basic horse care and experience is required, but we are happy to teach skills as needed. Good horsemanship is a priority. The sport of Driving can be taught.

Hillcroft Farm is a very unique Equestrian establishment. There are 3 bases. The main farm in located in Paris, Ky on a large farm with pleasure driving/coaching horses, retirees, broodmares and Polo Ponies. During the fall season it houses the CDE competition horses. The southern base is in Sarasota, Fl where the Combined Driving Competition teams reside. They compete in Fl and then usually travel to the EU base which is the Netherlands for the Summer season (COVID-19 has altered international travel plans). The goal of Hillcroft is to showcase a dedication to excellence in the horse world. We strive for team players who have an eye for detail and put horsemanship above all else. We are very lucky have to the quality of horses that we do and we put them first and foremost.
