Ben Albright is seeking a dedicated Assistant Trainer to join our high-performance dressage training facility in Ocala, FL. This role will focus on the individualized care and schooling of our dressage horses, as well as assisting with the daily operations of the barn. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized care for a select group of high-quality dressage horses, NOT including stall cleaning. Collaborate closely with Ben Albright and learn directly from his expertise in daily training sessions. Engage in the schooling and hacking of client horses along with everyday tasks. Possibly some coaching of clients depending on skill and experience. Ensure grooming is performed to the highest standard, both at home and during competitions. Apply equine therapies and perform basic first aid when necessary. Carry out body clipping, mane pulling/trimming, wrapping, icing, and hand walking of horses. Manage laundry and maintain an organized work and stable area. Handle minimal record keeping and scheduling tasks. Travel with horses to competitions as needed. Ideal Candidate: Should be enthusiastic about horse care and enjoy being at the barn. Open to learning and willing to commit to at least 5 full days work each week. Experience is mandatory; a willingness to work with different types of horses and a strong desire to learn are essential. In this position, you’ll have opportunities for daily instruction and increased riding responsibilities as your skills develop.
