Long Stride Ranch is a hunter/jumper program based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Wellington, Florida. We are seeking an assistant barn manager to support operations at our Florida location for the winter 2023-2024 season. LSR manages a string of privately owned lesson, show and sale horses and also takes on seasonal boarders into our care and training, with a total of 16 horses at our facility for the winter.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in barn management, riding and possibly teaching. The position will report to the owner of LSR, with typical duties to include:
- Tracking supplies and placing orders - feed, hay, bedding, supplements, etc.
- Helping schedule additional barn staff; oversee their barn work
- Scheduling and coordination with any dry stall tenants
- Teaching occasional beginner / lead line lessons
- Tracking horse records and keeping files up to date - farrier, vet, dentist, etc.
- Executing barn chores, such as feeding, mucking, turnout, general cleaning
- Helping with grooming, bathing and clipping of horses
- Keeping facility clean, neat and organized
- Assisting LSR at horse shows
Riding and lesson opportunities exist for the right candidate.
Requirements
We are seeking a candidate that is hard working, organized, enthusiastic, responsible and has a good sense of humor. Great communication skills are a must.

Our lesson, boarding and training program is based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Loxahatchee, Florida. We have 20+ horses under management and 50 riders, with some of our horses and riders moving to our Florida location from November - April for the winter show season. We offer training, lessons and sales with a focus on natural horsemanship, teaching students primarily in hunters and jumpers.
Our farm in Loxahatchee is on 5 acres, with 16 stalls, a beautiful arena, great turnout, an owner's house and a guest house. The facility is located <15 minutes to WEF and Global, 25 minutes to West Palm Beach.
