I have my bhs stage 1 (ride and care) and my ride road safe completed. I have experience in many different yards doing all yard duties and exercising horses. I am looking for a summer job from June - September. I would be happy working as a stable hand or groom with the opportunity to ride.Willing to travel with accommodation.

Full Time Vet Tech/Barn Manager for MODERN well established, holistically oriented, veterinarian owned, hunt/dressage/western pleasure/US Pony Club Center. NO mud, NO wheelbarrows with possibility to live on premises.

We are engaged in training, boarding, and providing horse management and private/semi-private mounted riding lessons to children and adults.

The Vet/Tech/Barn Manager will participate with the rest of the crew in the general care of horses including stall cleaning (no wheelbarrows and only 12 stalls), feeding, watering, turning out, blanketing and un-blanketing, grooming, leg wrapping, tacking up, un-tacking, and cleaning tack. He/She will also perform oral, iv, and im, medications, first aid, PEMF and Class IV Laser.

He/She will also help manage staff, do detailed medical record-keeping, transport horses, hack and lunge school horses, arrange farrier visits, and be able to teach horse management to students.

The position requires a detail-oriented, organized, cheery team worker, who is willing to follow established protocols and able to give constructive feedback to supervisees, including interns, in a positive fashion.

Requirements

Must be experienced, have excellent people/communication skills, capable of people and time management, physically fit, very attentive to detail and a team player.

Must be willing to work one and/or both days of the weekend as needed in the context of a 5 day work week.

Garden cottage, 600 square feet at 2/3 market rate = $1000.00. Suitable for a couple. Full kitchen with washer/dryer, gas fireplace, hardwired generator, walk-out deck with lovely landscaping, living room, bedroom, bath, attic storage. Water/garbage collection included. NO DOGS. Unfortunately we have found that previous tenants have not been adequately responsible for their dog, so we no longer will accommodate same, as we hate being police persons. A house cat is fine. Deposit required.

And we are also an educational institution & United States Pony Club Riding Center. We serve as an intern site for high school ag-tech programs, Vet tech programs & universities. We also teach anxious students and students with learning disabilities.
