Learn Horse Science while getting paid! As an educational institution with 50 years of teaching experience, we are looking for individuals who are interested in learning all about hunt, dressage, and western tack and its care, horse clothing, the science of bitting, equine anatomy, proper grooming, clipping, first aide, the science of feeding, medication administration, pasture management, lunging as a training exercise, Horse Whispering, and even the application of horse re-rehabilitation therapies. You will learn the science and then practice it by being part of our team. We are a modern farm, and do not use wheelbarrows, have no mud, and are super-organized.
Internships will be designed around the current competencies and desires of the student. However, all students must participate in basic chores - feeding, turning out, stall cleaning, grooming, tacking, untacking, and tack maintenance.
Requirements
Reliable transportation, including arriving at the barn on time, the ability to work on one's feet all day, must speak and read English and digest written material, and must be able to safely work around horses with and without supervision. High School Student Interns must be at least 15 with working papers.

We are a CT State Horse Farm of Environmental excellence with the following pristine facilities - 2 barns with 12 insulated rubber-matted stalls, Staff and Boarder's tack rooms, inside and outside wash stalls, 10 sand/ 4 double fenced pasture turnout areas, covered lunging arena with enclosed viewing area, 70 x 160 rubber covered/ lighted outdoor arena with enclosed viewing area, hot walker, mini medical paddocks, run-in sheds w. heated stock tanks, compost facility, mini trail, picnic area. In addition to boarding horses, we provide classical seat riding instruction as well as equine wellness services, including Class IV Therapeutic Laser, homeopathy & nutritional approaches, corrective shoeing, & saddle-fitting. And we are also an educational institution & United States Pony Club Riding Center. We serve as an intern site for high school ag-tech programs, Vet tech programs & universities. We also teach anxious students and students with learning disabilities.
