We are looking for a staff member who has an excitement for and a background in horsemanship and riding that we can help develop the experience necessary to work in our Equestrian program this summer!
Do you already have horse riding and care experience, but just need more experience with riding instruction? We will pay for a successful applicant to take riding/teaching lessons over the next few months to gain the experience they need to then come to Camp Augusta and co–direct our horsey program for the summer!

So, if you know you love riding horses and want to train to be an instructor, we are the place for you! We pay $4000 to $6000 depending upon experience for the main season dates (May 13th to August 11th).
Equestrian staff leads program development working alongside other members of the equestrian team. In addition to running our program they are responsible for feeding & mucking as well as general herd maintenance. This role benefits from a person who is able to adapt their experience, teaching style, and philosophies to camp and can provide their insight while being open to collaboration. When not horsing around, EQ staff will participate in camp programs, evening programs, and supply camp magic. Applicants must be 19 or older by the beginning of summer.
Housing is rustic and on site - live in a platform tent, cabin, or even a treehouse if you'd like!

We are a residential summer camp located in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California. We have six sessions during our season, 3 one week and 3 two week, with 90 campers (aged 8-16) each session.
We aim to give children the experience of living without many of the modern conveniences that are present in their everyday lives. They get the chance to experience living in an open air cabin without electricity. There are no televisions or stereos so they make their own music. We offer a variety of activities that they may not have tried or even seen before: sword fighting, whips, fire spinning, high and low ropes, archery and horseback riding to name a few.
