Duties include making rounds from 9PM-6AM at horse shows on the California Showjumping 'A' Circuit. Monitoring the safety, comfort, and well being of top show horses. One of the few horse jobs with no mucking and regular hours. Covid 19 safe, temperature taken upon entry each night, social distancing easy, very few people to come in contact with. No one with symptoms allowed on show grounds!
Must have horse handling experience, and general equine medical knowledge. Excellent observation and communication skills are important.
Must be able to work well with a team, and independantly. General care including watering, straightening blankets, monitoring recumbency patterns, postural issues, and recognizing symptoms of any and all medical issues. Critical care, to include first aid, walking colicky horses, assisting vet, helping cast horses to their feet. Determining when issues are serious enough for veterinary care. Bring your skills to an amazing team, or round out your equine skills and knowledge with our experienced crew.
A thorough training is provided for observation standards and protocol.

I have an immediate opening for the right candidate who is serious about this position. Must be legal to work in the US. Come join a great team of horse care enthusiasts in a fast growing business. We cover over 70 shows a year. Steady work, usually with December off for the Holidays.
We are currently in Thermal, CA through March 21, then San Juan Capistrano, CA through April 15th.
Requirements
This position requires a lot of walking, good time management, and a wide range of care and experience with emergencies.
