EponaMind is looking for an additional reliable and physically fit horse person to assist us part time at our spacious equine facility. The applicant must be a team player and work well with our other staff members. Our facility is not a show barn, but a research center devoted to the horse’s well-being. EponaMind is centered on the study of the hoof and equine biomechanics. Our barn facility offers shoeing services along accredited educational events. The position consists in much more than just riding - such as groundwork, lunging and long lining, and work in hand. The focus is to teach the horses the correct framework to work in (on the ground and under saddle) as well as supple them in order to compensate for their weaknesses (natural or man-made) and enhance their wellbeing. All the work is oriented towards the natural functioning of the horse (likewise with our research). Applicants with an interest in equine biomechanics and horsemanship are warmly welcomed. Basic knowledge of classical dressage is a plus. Applicants must be open-minded and willing to learn and apply training guidelines from our established instructors/researchers. Data is routinely collected on the horses during their training sessions. It would be an added bonus if the applicant feels comfortable setting up cameras and other equipment.

- Must be interested in learning to do stretching exercises and applying locomotion analysis on the horses. (It is not complicated!)
- Part-time position - perhaps around 20 hrs/wk depending what you want.

Job Benefits
Our facility is located on a 40-acre ranch in Paso Robles, California. Two outdoor arenas, round pen and an indoor arena with trail rides available on site. There are 12 stalls in the ‘old barn’, 7 out-building stalls, and 5 stalls in the new barn. Horses are turned out in pastures during the day. The ‘lower’ barn is where we host our events and our shoeing services.
Eight of the twelve horses are horses in training with their ages ranging from 8 to 19 years old. Most horses at this barn are in transition (going from rehabilitation to training), so the person in question must be considerate of the horses and take into account their past. All horses are worked within reason even the senior horses. Everything is handled with patience. These horses are not suitable for beginners. Our horses are used for our research.
