Barn Manager

Seeking a loyal, dedicated horse person with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills for our Barn Manager Position. Job duties include: overseeing horses' daily care and feeding, ensuring the proper maintenance of the horses in our care as well as directly supervising the other employees that work in the barn. Individuals must be highly skilled in all aspects of horsemanship, possessing a solid working knowledge of basic medical treatments, equine nutritional needs, and equine behavioral techniques. On occasion, there may be some hands-on tasks such as feeding, cleaning stalls, turning horses out, wrapping legs, and assisting with veterinary treatments, therefore experience in these domains is important. Some daily tasks of the job include: overseeing feeding, supplements and any medications, creating and overseeing turnout schedules and exercise routines, overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of the barn, scheduling and assisting vet and farrier appointments, ordering supplies, managing schedules and payroll, communicating with the owner and working as a team to run all aspects of the business, communicating with the clients and staff and addressing any conflicts and concerns and maintaining a positive attitude to set the tone and mood of the ranch. Since the ranch also has 2-3 ranch dogs that are under the primary care of the barn manager, a love of dogs and some knowledge of how to care for and train them is preferred.
