The riding instructor position is responsible for providing equine assisted life skills groups, individual sessions, case management and chart management for therapeutic equine sessions.

Responsibilities:

Hold and maintain the safety and well-being of the client as the number one priority Responsible to assess, execute and document client services and care Act as co-facilitator during group sessions Instruct equine life skills to small groups Manage horse behavior during riding therapies Provide direction and coaching to volunteers, as needed Serve as point of contact for clients and in case of emergency Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff Complete daily documentation of client interaction and programming Transport clients to and from treatment when applicable Maintain documentation and consistent communication to referring Case Managers via phone, email, and EMS recording Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in work environment Assist with animal care, as needed. Prepare for and attend administrative meetings; provide feedback when appropriate

Requirements

This position requires one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year full-time behavioral health work experience Associate’s degree and 2 years full-time behavioral health work experience High school diploma or GED and 18 hours post high school education in behavioral health field and 2 years full time behavioral health work experience OR 4 years of part time behavioral health work experience

Job Qualifications:

Proficient at horse husbandry and intermediate level rider. Must have valid Drivers License, Fingerprint Clearance, TB test, CPR/First Aid. Or be able to obtain the above. Highly skilled in a variety of office hardware and software. PATH/EAGALA preferred. Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. Must be comfortable driving and working in inclement outdoor conditions.

We serve clients with a wide range of diagnoses including, but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Emotional Disorder, Addiction Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
