Role Overview The Building Maintenance team ensures that all resort facilities, employee housing, and shared spaces are safe, functional, and welcoming. This is a hands-on, physically active role that requires versatility, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to maintaining a high standard of resort operations. Maintenance staff play a crucial role in keeping guests and employees comfortable, safe, and satisfied.

Primary Responsibilities General Facility Maintenance

• Perform repairs and upkeep across the resort, including plumbing, hot-water systems, electrical, HVAC, and structural repairs
• Maintain shared spaces such as bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and common areas
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, often under time constraints
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs before they become problems

Employee Housing & Support

• Maintain employee housing units in livable condition
• Address repair requests promptly and efficiently
• Assist with seasonal setup or breakdown tasks for employee facilities

Equipment & Kitchen Support

• Maintain operational equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, and other kitchen appliances
• Perform minor repairs, cleaning, and preventive maintenance as needed
• Collaborate with kitchen and hospitality teams to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly

Flexibility & Problem-Solving

• Respond to urgent maintenance needs as they arise throughout the day
• Work in a variety of conditions and environments, adapting to changing priorities

Work Environment & Expectations

• Work is hands-on, physically active, and often outdoors
• Must be comfortable performing a variety of tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working with tools and equipment
• Work in all types of weather conditions, including cold, rain, and snow
• Problem-solving and initiative are highly valued — you’ll often need to determine solutions independently

Housing is expensive in Alaska. We have an employee housing facility that is walking distance to work and is relatively inexpensive for the area. It is set back away from the daily operation so you have an area that is private from the hustle and bustle of the business. Our facility consists of 14 mobile homes that we rent each room for $15 per day per person. This includes all utilities and basic supplies. These are single and double rooms that 1 to 2 person stays in. There are 2 to 12 people per mobile home and each are set up differently. If you prefer to live alone our housing is not for you! Part of what we have to offer is a great place to live and work with your co-workers that is inexpensive for the area.
