Job: This full-time job is perfect for the experienced horse groom!

General responsibilities include: feed preparation and distribution, mucking, bathing, tacking up/untacking, cleaning tack, watering, cleaning feed and water containers, grooming, clipping, hoof picking, bandaging/icing legs, turning horses out and bringing them in, lunging, hand walking, blanketing, shared night duties, basic first aid, prevention, deworming, medicine administration, and assistance with farrier, vet appointments, and with preparations for shipping horses to shows.

Housing is included in an off-site fully furnished house (5 minutes from the farm). Pay is $700/week.

About us: We are a private 7-stall, 48-acre horse farm with most of our horses outside full time. We have 3 FEI/Grand Prix horses in stalls and others who are situationally unwell, ready to foal, or new. We selectively breed a few foals a year (Holsteiner). We have 3 brood mares and their nursling colts, last years 2 fillies and their babysitter (a Mustang rescue) and two miniature horses (pasture ornaments).

We are looking to add an experienced groom to our staff. This position is nonsupervisory, but serves as a leader on the team. We pride ourselves on our supportive team environment, where everyone's contribution is valued. We have a full-time riding groom and maintenance/caretaker (two different people). We have part-time help in the form of a vet tech, foal handler/trainer, in town riding instructor, and out of town riding instructor (four different people).

We are growing and looking for the next fitting addition to our fantastic team. This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to expand and offer new opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

Skills: organization, self-starter, early riser, attention to detail, tidy, also see Required Key Skills (below).

English required, Spanish a plus.

Must have references. Must have good horse sense. Must have ethics.
