Looking for a reliable yard manager to take over sole charge of livery farm whilst I, the owner, is on materinty leave.
This is a live in position for up to 3 months MINIMUM 2.5 months Benefits: Part time Hours Use of Scooter / Car Accommodation Wifi Lots of Riding Lots of free Time Sole Charge Living/Experiencing the very popular Costal Town of Altea Costa Blanca.
Duties includes, (but are not limited to ) :
- Overseeing the day to day runnings of the farm
- Managing / Training Workaways ( swap around every 3 weeks)
- ensuring all animals are cared for by the workaways at a high standard .
- ensuring all work is carried out accordingly to a high standard and the farm is left clean and in order
- deal with any small emergencies should they arise
- organizing and overseeing the horses exercise routine , before / after care. ( we are small yard. There’s only 4 / 5 horses in light work )
- organizing and overseeing food orders & Deliveries ( once a month)
- being the point of contact for liveries owners , keeping them up to date with their horses etc ( all are on full livery).
- Taking over the livery WhatsApp group.
- to cover workaways work when they are off. Workaways take it in turns so you would never do this alone. Plus we get teenagers help on weekends so can always plan their days off around when they are there to help too!
You would NOT be expected to do the “dirty” work eg mucking out, feeding , Poopicking EXCEPT to cover the odd workaway day off or when assisting with training. as you can see there’s not really much physical work to be done you would be taking over my job as manager as You would be there to cover me while I’m on maternity. It’s Part Time Basic work looking for some one to be my eyes and ears on the farm.
accomadation , bills and wifi is included which will reflect in salary. plus collection to and from airport.

Accommodation
Accommodation is on site. Wake up to the horses in your garden! Basic but has everything you will need, nice and convenient. Shared with the workaways. Your own Private room. Also friendly dogs will most likely adopt you as their temporary mother in the apartment!
Scooter or Car available if my in use ! Also cycle bikes always available. Bus stop very close by. You can get to all amenities on foot and easily.

Plus lots of riding - I have a few horses to be exercised but not excessively - all are happy hackers and light schoolers. Choose to ride as little or as much as you wish.
I take workaways all year with a 3 week turnaround. I’m looking for someone longer term while I’m on maternity leave as I can’t manage the workaway changeovers and need to take a step back from yard management for a few months. I will still be around to monitor and help emergencies.
