Dunbyrne Stud, our family run AIRE approved livery yard and riding school in Kilmeague, Co. Kildare have a vacancy for a yard worker. This role would be ideal for someone wanting to work with horses and to work with and learn from our BHS qualified team.
Duties include turning out and catching in, mucking out, feeding, exercising horses, general yard duties and assisting in our riding school and teaching if needed as a backup to our riding school manager.
Accommodation is available onsite. The option to bring your own horse on a discounted livery rate is also available.
Candidates must be able to exercise horses and ponies and must have BHS teaching qualifications (minimum BHS Full Stage 2 PTT or BHS Stage 3 teaching BHSAI). Candidates must have own transport.
Yard Facilities:
- 50 x 70m fibre surface outdoor arena
- 25 x 45m outdoor arena
- All weather gallops
- Wooded trekking area with cross country fences
- Spacious stables with shavings beds
- Individual turnout paddocks
- Heated rug room
Requirements
Criteria / Eligibility
- Prior experience in stable yards up to riding school level
- Stable management (tacking up, changing rugs, grooming, turning out)
- Aged 18 or over
- Ability to ride (jumping a course up to 80cm)
