We are a family run business south west of Ireland, that produce mainly home bred young horses for showjumping and eventing. We are looking for a YR rider/student to join the team to produce young horses. It is mainly 4, 5 & 6 yr year old competition and sale horses. We have over 25 horses in work, there is plenty of riding & a competition schedule planned for 2024. General grooming and yard duties and full care of horses. We work with a friendly and helpful atmosphere. We would like somebody with a good attitude for the general yard work, enjoy riding & be very kind to the horses. May suit a YR looking or experience producing youngsters before opening their own business. We have a modern facility, large indoor and outdoor, walker etc.
Requirements
Over 18. EU passport - no visas available. Must have a very good basic knowledge of flat work/dressage, independent seat & light hands. Preferably competed to a minimum of 1.10m level or 2* event level. Working with young horses so must be fit & physically able for riding 7/8 horses per day. Open to learning as the horses are produced through a system. Everyday is different, the person has to be willing to be flexible & a team player. Starting in January. No smoking in the yard or apartment. No phones during work hours. Vegan/veg/gulten free, bring their own lunch.
