Location: Westerwald region, Germany (beautiful rural location, ideally situated between Cologne and Frankfurt) Hours: 48 hours per week Accommodation: High-quality on-site accommodation provided About Us: We are a private, professional Eventing yard competing at international levels. We take pride in the top-tier care of our horses and our competitive success. For the upcoming seasons, we are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and highly experienced Competition Groom to join our team and travel with us across Europe. Your Responsibilities: Full Competition Care: Preparing horses for international Eventing competitions (braiding, clipping, grooming to peak standards, tacking up). Managing the stable routine at international venues, ensuring the horses’ well-being, recovery, and fitness throughout intense competition weekends. Daily Yard Duties: Top-quality daily care of our competition horses at our home base (mucking, feeding, grooming, lunging/hand-walking as needed). Health & Wellness Monitoring: Recognizing subtle changes in the horses' health, soundness, and behavior. Equipment Care: Maintaining tack, rugs, and equipment to a high, orderly standard. What We Are Looking For: Proven Experience: You must have solid experience as a competition groom, ideally within Eventing. Work Ethic: You are independent, fast, exceptionally tidy, organized, and reliable. You can keep your cool and stay structured under high-pressure tournament conditions. Driving License: A standard car license is required. An HGV/Truck license Class CE is highly preferred and will directly influence your compensation. Language: Fluent English is required; basic German is a welcome plus but not mandatory. What We Offer: Competitive Salary: Above minimum wage, based on your experience and qualifications. Requirements
Must have the legal right to work in Germany (EU passport or valid visa). Non-smoker preferred. Solid experience in plaiting, clipping, and stud management. Confident in driving a car (experience driving a horse trailer or truck is a major plus). Must be trustworthy, organized, and capable of working independently.
