We are looking for someone who is not just interested in a job but also in building a career. I am willing to mentor the right candidate for a business partnership. The role will develop over time and begin with the following responsibilities:
You may be a young person with horse experience who is eager to build a career in the Equine Industry. You may also be a professional who is burnt out and wishes to find a slower paced, more relaxed working environment. Perhaps you feel called to embracing a more conscious life amongst a supportive and loving community? Salt Spring is a unique place, full of interesting people. There are lots of horse owners here with different goals, but this is not a fast paced competition or sport driven atmosphere.
This is an ideal role for a student of horses who is keen to dive deeper into alternative horse care and training

We are a small private facility (5 acres: one large hog fuel outdoor arena, one sand round pen, walk-in barn, heated tackroom/bathroom, mix of forest and pasture with natural track system). Three Iberian horses live here: Osiris ("Oz"), a 4 year old Lusitano gelding, Maestra ("Mae") a 5 year old PRE and her 2 year old PRE daughter, Aurelia ("Ora"). We primarily offer Equine Facilitated Learning (un-mounted) workshops and retreats year round to the public. The horses are also all in training with myself as dressage mounts with some variety including trails, jumping, working equitation and other fun stuff we feel like trying! This is a relaxed but meticulous facility, emphasizing compassionate relationships with the horses as equal partners. A beautiful tranquil setting!
I am a former eventing rider with Equestrian Canada certification and an ex Pony Clubber with 30 years of experience with horses including National competition. However, we do not currently compete.
