We are looking for a Polo Groom / Farm Hand to work on our farm based near Naracoorte, South Australia, during the upcoming Summer season. This position is suited to an experienced horse person who can work independently with a strong work ethic and high attention to detail.
Murra-Dale runs a prime-lamb and beef enterprise, along with horses bred on the property and trained for polo and polocrosse. We are located on the Victorian-South Australian border approximately 25km east of Naracoorte in South Australia. This is a family-owned and run mixed farm operating from this same property for nearly 100 years.
Details of this position include:
- Daily exercising of horses by working individually and leading in a set
- Feeding
- Rugging/unrugging
- Cleaning/mucking out stables
- Managing, cleaning and maintaining all horse gear/tack
- Preparing horses for games
- Travelling to tournaments on weekends (truck licence a bonus, but not essential) This position is a dual role - looking after horses and general farm duties including mustering sheep and cattle, feeding grain in paddocks using the tractor, feed trailer and augers as well as checking water points, cleaning troughs, etc.

Included in this position is the use of a car. Local accommodation is available at a nearby farm house or in the nearby town of Naracoorte (25km distance from farm). Rent to be paid by employee and is not included in the hourly rate.
