BYALEE GROOM POSITION

Five or six day week, your preference.

Duties may include but are not limited to: • Feeding up (farm ute provided) • Mucking out the five stables (not all are always in use) • Tacking up, lunging in and hosing off and rugging horses for Ann-Maree/Dimity • Riding horses that are coming up for sale • Tacking up horses for client lessons, liaising with clients • Once a week, bringing in horses for farrier and on occasion holding them • Three times a week September-March, bringing in mares for stud work and holding them in the crush for their ultrasounds • Holding mares at the serving frame for serving (September to March only) •Barn and farm maintenance

You would live in a three-bedroom apartment on the mezzanine area of the big barn. This has a well-equipped kitchen and reverse-cycle air conditioning. There is free wifi. Staff are expected to keep the staff quarters clean and tidy.

There is a bathroom and a laundry below the living quarters.

Requirements

Must have basic horse skills - be able to catch a horse, rug and unrug, hose, tie up. Lunging and tacking up would be an advantage. Able to be professional around our clients, eg no swearing. :-)

Accommodation

Live in a three-bedroom apartment on the mezzanine area of the big barn. This has a kitchen and reverse-cycle air conditioning. Bathroom and laundry downstairs.
