Merle-Smith Sporthorses at Sunny View Plantation is a 500 acre farm a few miles from Zion Crossroads in the Green Springs Historic District of Louisa, County. The Merle-Smiths have been involved in the horse industry for over 40 years primarily as fox hunters, through breeding, producing and selling. Daughter, Nicolette, is an upper level eventer who winters at her farm in Ocala six months of the year. Currently they breed and train Holsteiners and other German Warmbloods for various disciplines including dressage, eventing and fox hunting. They own and stood the Licensed Holsteiner stallion, Concerto Grosso and have numerous broodmares. They have a 16 stall barn and 90 acres in paddocks.
