Richmond Vale Academy's Horse School is the only horse school on the island of St. Vincent in the Eastern Caribbean. In 2007, a small herd of wild and abandoned horses were rescued and slowly learnt to get along with people. The small island horses could do horsemanship and liberty lessons. A few years ago we started the riding process and today three horses are ok under saddle but need more routine and muscles to be good trail horses for students.
Richmond Vale Academy is a registered non profit school - training activists from all over the world to fight global warming and global poverty. The center is a model for sustainability with ecological farming models, renewable energy, water harvesting, climate action, natural horse management and silvopastural livestock systems.
The idea of the small horse school is to open a facility to people on the island to learn a kind way to be with, understand and also ride horses. People also come for Liberty Training Clinics.
