I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I have been riding or around horses since I was 10. I have also I worked my way through 4-H and scored well whenever I competed in Hippology and Horse Bowl. My family owns a horse and I know how to care for him. If there's something I do not know, or a technique for riding I'm unfamiliar with, I can learn it fast.
I am currently unemployed but I take care of my own horse.
Through 4-H in middle and high school I learned a lot about hippology and horsemanship. I learned how to groom, tack, pull and trim, feed, basic first-aid, bathing, blanketing, and whatever else is necessary to the duties of a general stable hand. My family has owned a horse since I was 14. My highlights of studying abroad were helping drive a horse in Moritzburg and hacking in the Highlands of Scotland. I have been in sole charge of 8 horses for long weekends before.
Grooming and stable duties. I am about 75% fluent in German.
I used to ride English and Western. I did Hunter/Jumper and Introductory Level Dressage competitively until I was 17 and had to have two surgeries to reconstruct my feet. I just got back into riding my horse last October, but have not competed (albeit I want to get back into it). My horse was a Western Trail/Pleasure horse when we got him and now uses an English saddle or is bareback most of the time.
Competed in for fun shows, 4-H Hunter shows, Introductory Level Dressage, and low level Hunter circuits. Received reserve champion in all Dressage Tests.
