I am a very self driven person that knows when a job needs to get done I will get it done, if I can not do it on my own I will find help to complete the task. I also understand priorities that when many things need to be done there area some more important than others. I take pride in my people skills and discipline. I have many skills other than my equestrian including construction, leadership, and management experience.
Maintain a professional, productive, and safe working environment while helping the crew in every possible area needed.
Growing up I was always around horses using them for farm work as well as for pleasure. As I went to college at Asbury University I was able to open my diversity in other disciplines. Completing my bachelors degree in four years I was able to gain experience in the english, driving, and therapeutic disciplines which I excelled in. Along with learning I was also a teacher for the college of training, maintenance, and ridding classes. I had the opportunities to work at many different thoroughbred sales around the Lexington, Kentucky area. Working all these sales I gain a huge amount of experience in building my horsemanship and general understanding of horse care. Extending my work from the sales to the farms I was able to be in part of the breeding programs as well as the training of racehorses. Since graduation I have traveled around the country transporting horses, working a cattle ranch, working on a guest ranch, and training horses for pleasure and working.
I specialize in working Quarter horses. Mainly focused on cattle work and training. I have traveled out west to areas of North Dakota and Montana gaining a wide range of experience in training and working with western style horses for cattle work and mountain trail ridding. My skills spread all a crossed disciplines in ridding and training, including driving, jumping, conditioning, and therapeutic.
My main discipline is western ridding. Training from the ground up to working or pleasure horses. I have also trained horses to begin to jump.
I was raised to work hard. When caring for animals you must put everything into consideration, not just what has happened, but what could happen. I am always expecting anything so no situation is overwhelming. To be the proper employee you must be flexible. If something needs to be done I am willing to prioritize for the best of the team effort.
