I am a 20 year USEF/USHJA professional with a long resume of training riders and horses from the most beginner local level to showing at the biggest A shows and taking clients to Florida and qualifying for indoors. I’ve done everything from breaking untouched 10 year old horses for pleasure to training winners of state medal finals and ribbon winners at USEF pony finals and Indoors. Currently located in the research triangle (Raleigh) of North Carolina but willing to relocate for the right fit.
A mature and reliable individual with transferrable skills and a varied work experience, seeks a temp role to complete Ride Safe & general riding. Opportunity to ride out/develop in-hand work welomed. Home counties preferred.
Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.
In my most recent job with horses, I have fed horses, caught them from the fields, groomed, tacked, lunged, schooled, trained youngsters on the ground, retrained horses, taught children (5+) and adults as well as disabled individuals and lead trails.
I have an inborn love for horses. My first horse was a TB mare. She taught me everything in regards to equine first aid. I know how to pultice, wrap legs, clean wounds soak feet, and rehab a horse with a broken hock. Since then, Ive worked with a yearling, on the ground and restarted a mustang pony mare undersaddle as well as schooling our trail horses for "tune ups".
I am very confident in my skills with handling horses of all ages and temperaments. However, I know I have much to learn and love to take in as much as possible. I'm friendly and motivated and always have a goal in mind for myself and any horse I work with. Seeing their progress in training and how well they are taken care of is what I live for. Problem solving is a specialty of mine and I will use my down time to research different ways to go about training if one way does not quite click.
I have ridden English since I was 7 years old. I grew up doing the local "C" show circut. My heart was not into showing and was more into being with horses, so I stopped competitive riding at 17. I had an older mare who could no longer jump and we trained in dressage and ended up doing western pleasure as well. Since then I have ridden primarily western, but still ride English occasionally. I have learned how to barrel race and start horses under saddle.
During my years of showing locally, I have received many champion ribbons and reserve as well. One of the "A" rated shows I completed in, I got called back in all of my jumping classes as well as won 3rd in the hack against 30 or so horses. With an older TB mare I had, we competed in everything from hunters and equitation to western pleasure and trail classes. I trained her from English to Western pleasure myself and we won champion in our first show.
