Sunshine Acres is a private, non-profit children's home. One of the many activities offered for our children is horse back riding lessons. All of our riders learn how to catch, groom, and tack up their own horses as well as help with chores. We currently run a herd of 16 horses (geldings only). Our facilities include: a large outdoor uncovered arena with woodchip footing and lights, a 50 ft round pen for training, a dry lot turn out, and a beautiful block barn with fully covered stalls complete with fans and misters. Our horses live in the barn during the day and get turned out as a herd at night. Our barn is second to none in cleanliness; stalls, water buckets and troughs are cleaned daily, and we do our best with fly control. Our horses are on a 6 week farrier schedule and we never hesitate to call the vet when a horse is in need. We always welcome visitors! If you want to do a tour of the Sunshine Acres campus, including the barn, give our main office a call to schedule a time!
