I am currently living in Phoenix, Arizona, as I am a college student. I will be moving up to San Diego, California for the summer (5/1/2017) and am looking for work up there too for that time period.
I have apprenticed with trainers in more of an assistants capacity, competed in many hunter shows, pony club rally's, jumper shows, and have also been a camp counselor/riding instructor at a riding camp in Virginia. I have conducted trail rides for the Mokulei'a Polo Field, and have exercised/trained polo ponies for multiple polo players. I have trained horses and riders from the beginner to the intermediate levels of english riding. I am currently a C3/HB member of the United States Pony Club.
Duties of Current Occupation
Currently a student at Grand Canyon University. Have experience exercising polo ponies, hunters, jumpers, reigning, and western pleasure horses. Have experience training all of the above. Gave lessons to beginner Pony Club members.
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding since the age of five, and grew up taking lessons, clinics, and participating in pony club. I grew up riding on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, and had the priviledge of working with multiple horses of many different disciplines. I recently sold my project horse who I trained to be a hunter/upper level pony club horse. I have always been passionate about jumping and English riding. Due to pony club I do have experience in eventing and have ridden up to training level with my project horse. I was always taught to focus on creating a light and supple connection with each horse that I ride, and always incorporate into each ride, regardless of what discipline the horse I'm riding is.
Very experienced in hunters, jumpers, pony club, extreme cowboy race association, and polo. Most knowledgeable in english riding and jumping. When riding, I mainly focus on creating a soft and supple connection with the horse to get them moving off my leg and tracking from their hind end. I like to build that solid foundation first, and then build upon that.
Type of Ride Work
I can do english, dressage, western, or polo. Due to being in Pony Club and having multiple training and exercising jobs, I am a very versatile rider and can adjust to the different disciplines. I can even lunge and exercise horses from the ground. Can even pull shoes, have rehabbed injured horses, wrap, and get horses show ring ready.
2015 - 2016: C3/HB Rating in The United States Pony Club, Extreme Cowboy Race Association - Non Pro Champion, Youth Champion, and High Point Champion. 2014 - 2015: C2 Rating in The USPC. EXCA Non Pro State Champion, Youth Reserve Champion, and High Point Champion, Keegan Neil Memorial Award, Hawaii Horse Show Association Medals Class Children’s Eq 17 & Under Reserve Champion, Hunter Seat Eq 17 & Under Reserve Champion.
