Equine Work Experience

I have worked in various barns doing chores and taking care of horses. My most recent job I was a PATH instructor teaching therapeutic riding lessons as well as the barn coordinator. When I wasn't teaching lessons, I was providing exceptional care to the horses. We have 24 horses and a 21 stall barn on 35 acres. There, I turned horses in/out, fed, provided clean water, cleaned stalls, moved hay from hay barn to the horse barn, cleaned dry lots daily, swept hay bunks, dispensed any medications needed, provided care to minor injuries, as well as, leveled stalls, ran a skid steer, dragged arenas using a Kubota utility tractor, mowed pastures, fixed dry lots to maintain even footing, maintained shelters and cleaned outdoor waterers, among many other responsibilities.I also was in the process of learning to cut, rake and bale hay. I also unloaded hay from the hay wagon to the mow. During the shutdown for the pandemic I was the sole staff member taking care of the horses and facility.
