I have worked with horses for 12 years now and they are my biggest passion in life. I have mostly worked in the riding school but have experience with foals, years lings, youngster, brood mares, problem horses and project ponies. I am often given difficult horses to ride as I don't really have any fear and will get on anything. I have a very relaxed manner around horses and don't often get stressed out. I am very quick at mucking out stables and take maybe 15 mins per stable. I am very diligent in all tasks I do and never leave the yard until all jobs are completed. I have helped out in many competitions and also competed in them myself. I can be very competitive and I do like to win. I really enjoy show jumping and cross country and used to jump 1.20m courses on a regular basis. I have a very good dressage background and am always willing to learn. Horse welfare is my biggest priority and will not stand for abuse or neglect and will always stand up for what I believe in.
I have worked mostly on a riding school yard but my previous manager bred her brood mare. she had three foals while she was there and I did a lot of helping in grooming, feeding, leading, general handling and when the vet and farrier came. when the mare was pregnant me and my friend would do a lot of handling of her, grooming and leading when she started with labour. I am very good at plaiting up for competitions and strive for perfection and always like to have it right.
Type of Ride Work
I really enjoy Show jumping and cross country but have a good dressage background. I very much enjoy schooling on the flat before pushing a horse into jumping before it is ready. I have ridden problem horses, youngsters and green horses. I have trained lots of horses and ponies in my life and am often given the project horses to work with. I have ridden newly backed horses and hardly ever back down from a situation that is intimidating. as I said before I have jumped up to about 1.20m.
I have done a few casual shows at my local yard and been to a few shows with some friends but not much more.
