Scissortail Hill Equestrian in SE Austin is looking to hire a full time stable hand/worker. Job duties include cleaning of stalls, turning well mannered horses in/out, feeding and watering horses, mowing/landscaping, basic repairs, and more. Days and times vary. Full time position. This position does not include or require riding or working with horses beyond basic handling. Candidates must be responsible, dependable, have a positive attitude and be able to maintain communication with the rest of the barn staff. Position is physically demanding but low stress. Those interested will earn free lessons. This job is hard but great for self motivated people who love physical jobs, take pride in their work, don't mind working solo (with tons of animals), want to be apart of a fun team, and like working with tools of different types. Working lesson facility with ~40 horses. References required, preference to candidates with equine/ranch experience or equestrian references.
Requirements
Must be able to use and do basic upkeep for various farm and mechanical equipment, lift 50 lbs, have reliable transportation (if not live in), and speak decent English. Hard worker with basic horse handling skills to clean and maintain the barn and facilities. This is NOT a riding position, but riding is possible for the right person.

Scissortail Hill Equestrian was established in 2014 when a wonderful group of equestrians found a forgotten equine property in South Austin, TX. Over time the tender loving care given has turned this facility into a peaceful equine haven with a quality instructional and training program. We specialize in producing safe, stable, and confident riders who receive a well rounded solid horsemanship education both in the saddle and out. Those riders then pursue Eventing, Hunter/Jumper, and other disciplines. We also pride ourselves in the shows we host through-out the year.
