Miller & Associates is seeking a seasonal assistant barn manager to aid in the operation of our rehabilitation and CEM quarantine facility. The ideal candidate has both excellent horse handling and communication skills, with a desire to be fully immersed in a veterinary clinic type-setting. Compensation is dependent on experience. US work authorization is required for this role.

Opportunity for long term, full-time placement with the clinic is available with this position. Interested year-round candidates must be willing to make a commitment to working in Wellington, Florida from December – April.

Requirements

Intended Responsibilities Include: Daily full–service horse care not limited to: cleaning stalls, feeding/watering, administering medication, hand walking mares, monitoring temperatures, grooming/tacking up for clients, cleaning tack, and maintaining a clean and well organized barn. Following all CEM protocols and proper bio-security measures. Assist barn manager with intake/discharge procedures for CEM mares. Assist CEM doctor with culturing process and record keeping. Clipping, mane pulling, wrapping as requested. Assist with monitoring inventory for both weekly supplies orders and monthly barn counts. Provide clear and consistent communication with clients regarding ride times and respond to requests for their mare’s quarantine stay. Assist barn manager with exercise riding and/or lunging as needed.

Job Benefits

This is an hourly position that is overtime eligible. Compensation is dependent on experience. Entry-level compensation for this role is $18 per hour.

Candidates interested in full-time placement will receive either a housing stipend or company housing option for the required Florida commitment along with health insurance and 401K options and paid time off.
