Job Description
Position entails riding, training, developing, showing and overseeing the care of 5-8 show hunter prospects.
An intregal component of this position includes riding/training green horses and assuming responsibilty for their development under saddle and over fences under the guidance of a professional.
The barn manager will be asked to ride/train horses at home, prep for buyers, prep at shows and the barn manager will also have various opportunities to show.
Additional daily responsibilities include managing a small staff, which will assist with feeding, turnout, mucking, grooming etc.
Other responsibilities including, ordering supplies, scheduling and supervising various appointments. The barn manager will also ensure that the barn is organized and well stocked and the arenas are groomed (by the staff).
The position also requires knowledge of routine health maintenance to include, icing, cold hosing, polticing, wrapping, worming, administering IM and IV shots, administering medications and minor injury care.
