Job Description
We are looking for a self motivated team player to help with the horses in all kind of work related to barn and farm work.
Requirements
The groom/working student should be able to ride at least 1st level /A Dressur comfortably and have some skills at training children. All round horse care i.e. grooming, tack care, stall cleaning etc. is expected.
Required Skills
Riding; Driving license; Lunging; Bandaging; Clipping; Trim/Pull.
Required Expertise
Dressage; Working with children.
Accommodation
The fulltime job offers a complete and fully furnished studio apartment, at times shared with a second w-student.
Benefits
The groom/w- Student will be under supervision and learn all aspects of the equine business. He/she will receive a complete equine training and Dressage training with one of the German trainers and/or Christiane, an FEI Trainer and judge.
The Facility
The Dressage Center is a 40 acre full-care equestrian center for about 40 horses. Christiane is a judge and FEI rider, the assistant trainers are succesful FEI riders/ German Bereiter as well.
The Center has a 25 x 55 m lighted, indoor arena with mirrors on the entire short side and rubber footing. An additional 25 x 25 m covered arena. We have two outdoor arenas 50m x 70m and 20m x 60m both with sand footing and large lighted longe pen. Surrounding the property is a two mile galloping trail. Each year we have 3-4 Hannoverian/Oldenburger foals beeing born here.
Each year, the Dressage Center holds a series of five, three star (CDS, USDF and USEF) dressage shows, as well as clinics with international trainers.
There is a Kids riding and Vaulting program going on year round.
For the well being and proper development of the horse and the correctness of your seat Jochen Schleese of Schleese Saddlery Service comes three times a year for Saddle Fitting and adjustments to CNDC.
