Job Description

Norwegian-American couple seek a farm assistant for the daily care of horses and stable chores at a breeding-training stable for warmblood sport horses in Norway. Depending on qualifications of applicant, job could also involve assisting with the riding and training of young horses. Instruction in dressage can also be arranged.

Requirements

We're looking for a friendly and responsible person with a positive attitude and work ethic that enjoys working with horses to help take care of the daily stable chores (incl. mucking, sweeping, turn-out/in, feeding etc.) for 10 horses (incl. broodmares, foals, yearlings, and young horses in training) at private breeding farm. Also, help with grooming, preparing horses before/after training. Depending on qualifications of applicant, assisting with riding/training may also be included.

The Facility

Ovre Havnas Gard is a 134-acre farm with a new 9-stall modern stable, with heated floors, large wash stall, tack and feed areas, also a 20x40m outdoor arena (indoor arena in planning stage) spacious paddocks/pastures and lots of fields and wooded trails. We breed top warmblood sporthorse bloodlines, as well as have boarders and horses for training.
