Job Description
Looking for a someone with experience in yearling prep/sales, ideally a male who is very competent in handling large colts!!
The Job is available from start of November 2011 and go through till the end of January 2012. SALES EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL
Requirements
Must have previous experience doing Thoroughbred yearling sales and very competent working with big colts. The applicant must be a dedicated worker, able to work the long hard hrs of the yearling prep, and work in a small family team environment. Part time work can be negotiated.
Required Skills
First-Aid; Equine First-Aid; Handling Youngstock; Lunging; Trim/Pull; Sole Charge; Exercising.
Required Expertise
Racing Flat; Stud.
Accommodation
There is a beautiful staff cottage on the farm, each staff member has their own room, with shared bathroom, loungeroom kitchen etc... The cottage is located only 4km from Gundy, that has a famous local Pub and a general store. There are only 3 beddrooms in the cottage, so there is alot of space and privacy.
Benefits
There is a work car that is provided to use to go to and from work/town. The successful applicant may bring a horse to ride in their own time, or there are at times some farm horses available to ride depending on applicants ability.
The Facility
A 3-day eventing yard of international level. Breeding warmbloods for dressage and a few TB for racing. The Farm is also a race horse spelling farm and rehabilitation centre. The farm is set on 500 acres in the Upper Hunter Valley-the Horse Capitol of Australia. Opportunities to travel to comps all over Australia and New Zealand.
We also run a small herd of Angus breeders.
I am looking for a full time Eventing Trainer/ Eventing Groom. Must be efficiant workers who are happy to work on their own, with dedication to their work and willingness to learn. Experience in Training/ grooming at Competitions is essential, At least 2 yrs experience. must be able to speak english and 1 other language. There is to compete in some local shows.
Full accomodatoin is provided along with a car.
The local town is only 4km away with a bigger town 20 mins away. We are also located only 3 hrs from Syd, and 2 hrs from Newcastle, easily accessed by train.
Wages start at $450 p/week
