Duties of current occupation

I am a full-time student at South Dakota State University and I also compete on the NCAA Division 1 Equestrian team.

Equine work experience

I have over 6 years of experience showing in the Jumper divisions and I have been showing at the 1.10m level for the past 2-3 years on a horse that was purchased inexpensively as a project horse. In 2010, I was selected to compete in the USHJA Emerging Athlete’s Program levels 1 and 2, which was an experience that has given me a lot of determination to continue riding at a high level. In the summer of 2011, I had 5 top eight finishes in the 1.10m Adult Amateur Classics in only 3 weeks of showing. Currently, I attend South Dakota State University on a scholarship to compete on the NCAA Division 1 equestrian team. I recently earned the rare opportunity to compete as a freshman, and I won a point in the over fences division of the competition. I will also be representing the university at the Pin Oak Invitational Horse Show in March.

Type of ride work

I have a lot of experience in the jumper ring, but I have also shown in hunter classes and now I compete in equitation style classes for SDSU.
