I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
While I have no formal courses, I’ve taken several nutrition courses through my current employer and have gone out on my own time to continue my learning and knowledge in the field. Having grown up and been surrounded by horses, I've always had an open mind and continued to learn from my surroundings for as long as I can remember.
As of August 2024, I will be working towards my bachelors of science in Equine Business and sales.
Feed, turn out, make grain, exercise ride or lunge, blanketing and changes, tack cleaning, stalls, all of the above! Comfortable administering medication and bandaging/basic first aid and wound care.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be exposed to the horse industry since I could walk, but I’ve been in and out of a more professional setting for the last 4 or so years. From clipping to braiding to overall grooming in a show environment, or hacking out FEI level show horses, or jumping a 2'9" course, I’m comfortable with it all.
I’ve worked with horses of all ages, whether it be the first time over a fence, off the track, or a hack out for the hundredth time. I’m quiet yet stern enough to deal with horses who may be a little pushy or reactive. In a work setting, I take pride in leadership and my initiative to get a task done in an effective manner.
In my 20 years, I’ve been lucky enough to be exposed to several disciplines and broaden my knowledge. I’ve ridden western pleasure, reining, barrel raced hunt seat, hunters, jumpers, eventing, dressage, plenty of hacking and even fox hunted once!
I’ve ridden horses from those that need a spur, stick, and some extra juice, to horses that are very excitable and hot!
I’ve had the pleasure to accompany several trainers at rated and schooling shows, mainly dressage and eventing.
