Finding new tenants their perfect property, speaking to tenants over the phone, conducting face to face viewings, negotiating new tenancies, preparing necessary paperwork for new tenancies, being the main point of contact for potential tenants
I have worked in a professional equine environments since the age of 16. Previous to this, I rode, competed, and helped out at a Shetland Pony stud for years. My first job was at an olympic eventing yard in Belgium. Here I quickly progressed from working student to assistant barn manager and home rider. This meant riding and training the young eventers and keeping the top horses fit. Here, I also worked with a natural horsemanship trainer as I was the main rider of the more nervous horses. Next, I worked for a year at a national hunt yard doing general yard work and exercising race horses. I also did the breaking of youngsters, and the rehab of horses coming back from injury. Next, I worked for an event / national hunt yard. Here, I primarily groomed and exercised the event horses and also helped exercise the racehorses. Next, I worked at a polo yard doing general yard work, exercising polo ponies, and grooming for games and chukkas.
I have experience and I am confident handling foals, youngstock, broodmares, stallions, and fit competition and race horses. I have experience with sole charge of a yard of up to 14 horses and also as assistant barn manager for an international eventing yard. I am an extremely hard worker, keep an organised and tidy yard, pick up new information very quickly, and take care of every single horse to the best of my ability.
Types of ride work I am experienced in include national hunt racehorses, polo ponies, eventers up to 5*, starting/breaking young horses, flatwork, bringing horses back into work after injury, problem horses. I would say I excel in building relationships with difficult/nervy horses and I also have no problem riding “difficult” horses.
I have competed myself up to one metre in showjumping and eventing.
I have groomed at national hunt races, point to point races, carriage driving competitions, national eventing, dressage, and showjumping competitions, and international eventing competitions up to 2*.
