Seeking motivated working student/groom with a good work ethic to work at a Hunter/Jumper show facility and care for 5-8 show horses full time. We usually have multiple working students working at Little Glen. Must have experience with horses! Great working environment located on 800+ acres, two large barns, 36 stalls and heated barns. Located in Northern Ohio. Weather can be COLD during winter, must be used to cold weather and can drive in snow. Needs to be able to drive large truck and horse trailer. Need someone that is good with clients, horses and can take direction. Must be driven, love horses and understands the responsibilities of taking care of show horses. Must be willing to travel to shows. Responsibilities include at home care of show horses, organization of barn, cleaning, grooming, some riding, lunging, turnout, client interaction, operating farm equipment, first aid and veterinary care, medicating (IM and IV injections, can be taught), and stall cleaning (at shows). Need to be detail oriented, enthusiastic, and easy to work with. Working student must be assertive, responsible and able to handle early mornings. Hours can be long at horse shows. Working student does not need to have show experience but must have general training in hunters/jumpers. Riding lessons will be provided for the working student as well as housing. Must be willing to live with other person in large house. Will be working with another working student during this position. The salary will include housing and opportunity to bring a horse to the facility. Starting salary $150/week working 6-7 days a week. Lessons/training included in the position. Requirements
