Update - we are still looking for two candidates who are available from May 28th through August 15th, 2014! Lake Bryn Mawr Camp and Bryn Mawr Riding Camp are looking for qualified staff for the summer of 2014. Lake Bryn Mawr Camp is a traditional all-girls camp, offering programming in team sports, fine arts, adventure, gymnastics and horseback riding. It is home to approximately 350 campers (ages seven to 15) and 175 staff. These girls are full-season campers who attend a seven-week session. Bryn Mawr Riding Camp is a short session (one, two, and three week) camp specifically for equestrian campers. These girls receive two riding lessons per day, along with periods of on-the-ground horsemanship and barn management. Both camps are dedicated to teaching campers of all riding levels the fundamentals of hunt-seat riding. All staff members work for both programs during the summer. Our facilities include 36 stalls, an indoor riding arena, five outdoor arenas, and a cross country course. We looking for individuals to teach riding lessons, care for our 36 horses, and live in cabins with campers. This is a full-time, eleven week, paid position, with meals and housing provided. Candidates must be able to commit to the entire camp season, from May 28th through August 15th. Interested individuals should visit our websites at www.campbrynmawr.com and www.brynmawrridingcamp.com. A job with Bryn Mawr’s Riding Program allows individuals interested in a career with horses to receive cross-training in a variety of areas. Workers will be in charge of creating and implementing lesson plans for hunt seat riding lessons. Staff will also create and implement on-the-ground lessons in horsemanship and barn management. Beyond teaching, staff will help with day-to-day care of the horses, including feeding and basic first aid. Finally, workers will also help school horses on the flat, and over jumps. This job can also work as a summer internship, earning college credit.
