  • Assistant Trainer for 'A' show barn-Santa Barbara

    Ridgewood Farm is looking for an assistant capable of teaching and riding hunter jumpers and equitation up to a 3' level - a basic knowledge of dressage is a plus. Basic daily managerial duties will also need to be taken care of as will occasional travel for horse shows. 5-6 days a week depending on show schedule.

  • Nanny / Groom / Rider

    Nanny duties for fun 3 yr old 4 days a week on a polo farm. Grooming, riding, playing also available on the other days.

Intern post learning all aspects of stud/ competition yard duties. Preparation and training for BHS & NVQ qualifications up to Stage/Level 3. All exam fees paid. We compete up to 4* level in eventing with dressage and SJ during the winter. Opportunity for competent rider to compete our young horses in Dressage/SJ, and eventing. Applicants must be reasonable and ambitious riders as we are ideally looking for a 2nd string competition rider to assist our senior (FEI ranked) rider. Must be ambitious and conscientious- the work is very hard and only motivated people will succeed. Our senior rider is a hard task master in both riding and stable management - this is not liberty hall and only the best will do and our students become the best. Those who survive our regime go on to super jobs but some fall by the wayside and we are fed up with investing time and energy in people who do not want to improve. You have been warned!

Requirements

Diligent and hardworking individual required who knows the basics such as mucking out, sweeping, leading out etc. We will teach the rest. We work to a high standard and expect all staff to strive to maintain this. Candidates must be prepared to be required to work to the highest standards - the rewards are enormous as you could ride our competition horses as 2nd rider and make a name for yourself. Alternatively, if you are less interested in competition riding you will still receive a top flight education in equine management. Look us up on our website or FB.

Not at all posh - converted farm yard. Approximately 30 horses on site at any one time. Currently on International eventing circuit with youngsters following on. 4 stallions standing at stud plus brood mares and youngstock

    Full-time groom required to work alongside very jolly Head Girl in a fun family hunting, competition and point-to-pointing yard between Cirencester and Cheltenham. Full time position with quality accommodation (3 bedroom cottage shared with one other). Quality horses and excellent facilities: indoor and outdoor school, grass and all weather gallop, excellent hacking. We also have an embryonic NH breeding operation. Start date 3rd August 2015.
