A friendly yard in rural Essex. Based on the family farm of around 500 acres, with 30 boxes, 20 acres of grazing, approx. 7 miles of private hacking, a 20m by 40m floodlit menage, a 40m by 90m jumping paddock and a few x-country jumps around the farm. We have a 5 broodmares, 5 foals, various other youngstock, horses being brought on to sell and my competition horses. Then we have about 10 livery horses, some of which we exercise/school. We are well located, only 2 miles from Norton Heath EC and about 40 mins from Unex Towerlands.
A very friendly place to be, very nice staff with a lovely environment. I enjoyed working here for work experience for a month and improving my english in the same time.Elodie Heckmann 9/22/2012
I spent three months working at Howletts Hall in the summer of 2011, and I would definitely recommend this yard as all my experiences there were wholly positive. I received useful and informative advice on all aspects of grooming, horse care and general yard maintenance, and also enjoyed some valuable training in both jumping and flatwork. I was encouraged to develop as a rider and a groom in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and was treated like a member of the family while living with the other grooms and employers. Overall, the people are lovely, the place was great and I would definitely go back!Zoe Maher 1/17/2012
