We are seeking a responsible and reliable individual for the position of stable hand. Duties will include daily chores (turnout, blanketing, feeding, mucking, re-bedding, sweeping, watering, etc). Other duties will be as assigned: harrowing, paddock vacuming, fence mending, trail blazing. Knowledge of tractor and small equipment operation would be an asset, but not required. There are stallions on this property, applicants MUST BE competent horse handlers. This position is live in, and may also include lessons/working student position if mutually agreeable.
Duties to be filled as described above; we are willing to train the right applicant.
Situated above the barn is a lovely 2 bedroom apartment. Bright and clean, with a private entrance. Hydro and Satellite provided.
We are able to train the right applicant in a variety of tasks, such that you can expand your knowledge base and gain valuable experience. We are able to offer riding lessons on our well educated horses, or you may bring your own. Showing with us is an option. We offer flexible hours.
We are a small boarding, breeding and eventing facility in beautiful Tiny, Ontario. We have 30 horses in our care, with many bred mares to foal out in the spring, and rebreeding to one of our stallions. We break and train our own horses, and compete the ones who are old enough. There is a beautiful private beach only about 1.5 km from the stable, Blue Mountain Ski resort can be seen from the road, as well as all the local shopping and social/recreational ammenities offered in the town of Midland and the City of Barrie.
