We are looking for a fun and energetic person to help care for our 3 children (ages 5, 3 and 1) and keep our home running smoothly. There is opportunity to also assist with general farm duties including feeding/exercising/grooming horses, cleaning house/pens, gardening and yard maintenance, etc. Wife has a background in three day eventing, husband has background in rodeo. Husband works off of the farm full-time and wife works off of the farm 2 days per week. If the individual has the experience and interest, their time will be split between childcare, caring for the horses/riding, and farm maintenance/house work.
Individual must be in good health with a positive attitude and good work ethic. This position requires that individuals be flexible as work and family life can both have unpredictable schedules. Every effort will be made to include individual in family events/excursions and to ensure that employee enjoys the local cultural/sporting events including the Calgary Stampede, the Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament, Banff National Park. There is opportunity for outdoor adventure including hiking, camping and trail riding in the mountains. This position pays $200 per week and includes accommodations and food. Individual is expected to contribute to cooking meals and cleaning.
My husband and I live on a farm in Central Alberta, east of Rocky Mountain House, where we have horses and cattle. We have a daughter who is 5 years old, a son who is 3 years old and another son who is 20 months old. My husband works in the oil industry and I am an equine and small animal veterinarian. Our property is appx. 480 acres with an unheated indoor riding arena and several paddocks and pens. I am involved in three day eventing and my husband participates in rodeo.
